Introducing The Safety Prism

Robert Jackson, the founder of The Safety Prism, has been involved in the protection of people and assets for over 25 years.

After leaving school at 16, Robert joined an apprentice scheme within the construction industry. It was here that he started to develop his skills in security and safety:

“I spotted gaps in the way safety was being managed on site, so I helped develop some safe working practices. Back in the mid to late 80’s, construction didn’t have tight regulations in place as it does now. However, it still remains one of the top ten industries contributing to workplace injuries and deaths. Our aim at The Safety Prism is to assist companies in all sectors to ensure they make their workplaces and work practices safe.

A huge misconception is that safety only applies to larger construction companies and commercial properties. Even if work is carried out on your home, the construction regulations still apply, albeit less complex.”

We specialise in CDM and can support any construction project, so get in touch to discuss how.

Rob left the construction industry in the late 80’s and moved his focus to protection, security & safety, joining the police force where he spent nearly eight years assigned to a group of specialist surveillance operators. At the same time he started his own freelance business after completing a diploma in private investigation.

Heading to London in the late 90’s, Rob headed up security & safety at some of the world’s best-known sporting, leisure and concert venues. His business evolved to successfully combine three critical life safety disciplines: Security, Safety & Fire.

“Life safety isn’t really a choice of ‘shall we or shall we not’. I have invested a large part of my life and career in helping others with personal security and company safety. I advise and guide a whole manner of industries and individuals through their projects, events and lives for one goal, really – that everyone goes home to their loved ones.”

When the SIA (Security Industry Authority) introduced licensing for Close Protection Operators (bodyguards), Rob rose to the challenge and successfully passed the three-week gruelling course. He has since provided personal security to high profile clients and their families.

“CP (close protection) is not only aimed at celebrities, it could be a high net worth individual or a company director or CEO that needs that extra level of reassurance and peace of mind.”
